We are calling all the educators out there. The Questions section of the site is modestly popular. The challenge is creating new and interesting questions to truly make it a question of the day. Please contribute 10 new questions for the month of May. You can see this post, or directly submit your questions here. Or, if it's easier for you, you can send a message to Cliff here.

PathLabTalk is a community. Communities thrive with active members. As of April 1, 2024, we have 12,233 members (that's a lot!). April's challenge will be to get 20 new members. We all know at least one coworker who could benefit from the site; please share a link to PathLabTalk with a colleague or your entire lab.

  6. Started by Cliff,

We currently have 637 people subscribed to any newsletter. The goal for March 2024 is to get 25 new subscribers. You weren't aware we sent newsletters? No worries, half of the respondents to the February Challenge Survey weren't aware either! You can subscribe to our Newsletters here. Let's crush this goal!

  7. Started by Cliff,

Have you seen the PathLabTalk newsletter? Over the past few months, we've worked really hard to make these communications more useful and relevant to what's happening on the site. Feedback is always welcome. No worries about providing harsh feedback, it will only make us better, and we can take it. Post away below on how we can make these communications more helpful. Please consider signing up here.

  8. Started by Cliff,

A site satisfaction survey was emailed to all members this morning. To receive notifications from the site, ensure you have opted in for Newsletters here. If you'd like to take the survey but did not receive an email, please message me, and I'll get it out to you. The goal for this month's challenge is to get at least 50 responses. I will post the survey results here (anonymously, of course). Thank you!

To whom this may concern, Last year, Paypal canceled my account for some reason. I called them but they gave me a vague explanation. So my premium membership wasn't renewed. Is there another form of payment we can use? Like a credit card or something. Thank you.

Cliff, I've been glancing at the birthday list and it got me thinking (dangerous, I know), how hard would it be to run an algorithm that could calculate either the average age or the median age of group members. It might give us some perspective on the need to recruit more people into the profession. Just a random thought.

  11. Started by Cliff,

In this "new" world of ever-increasing job openings, with a hyper fluid pool of applicants, keeping positions filled becomes a little bit harder each day. Do you have openings you're trying to fill? Are you in the market for a new job opportunity? Great news, PathLabTalk now has a specific section for posting Jobs. Please consider posting your open positions here: https://www.pathlabtalk.com/forum/index.php?/jobs/ You can also apply for one of these positions and the person posting the job will receive notification. As always, this is provided as a free service.

  12. Started by Cliff,

Let's start 2024 with a fun challenge! We will send an email to all members today letting them know. Let's see if we can get 100 posts in one day in January. We'll start with next Thursday, January 4, 2024. We'd have over eight thousand posts if every active member made just one post! Don't save up; please post between now and next Thursday. Need some ideas? Reply to something in the unanswered topics list. If it's your first post, make an introduction. Start a new topic with something you've been curious about.

Cliff has any thing changed recently. For the past few days I've had to sign in every day? Not sure how I managed but I do remember my password.

Apart from me, is anyone else missing the ability to see who has a birthday on a particular day, or am I just a sentimental old fool in a minority of one???????????

  16. Started by Cliff,

Make just one post this week. Think of the difference you could make to the site if you make just one post a week. Not sure where to start? There are many unanswered topics. Some are new, some are more than 10 years old. Why respond to these? While not all visitors to the site participate, many don't even register, thousands of people visit the site each month to use it as a reference. Keeping the unanswered topics to a minimum helps the whole Pathology Community! Try to answer just one topic this week, you never know who you may help. These topics can be found in the main menu under Unanswered Topics, or here. Thank you! --- …

  21. Silly question...,but I'd really like to know, what is the difference in choosing between human and monoclonal reagents for ABO/D testing? Is it a first choice from these two?Is it the price? I work with Bio-Rad reagents and I know they have cards with human reagents but also identical cards with monoclonal reagents. Our lab use only monoclonal ones.

  22. Is there a way to get rid of these individual postings? Can't they be grouped under one topic? Today I have page after page of the same heading from different posters. It's kind of ridiculous. Thanks, Scott

  23. Started by Cliff,

Please help PathLabTalk to grow. We now have a referral system so we can see who has referred the most members to the site. Why would we want to track such a thing? Easy, we're doing it as part of a contest. Whomever refers the most people to the site (a minimum of 10 people) by January 31, 2017, will win a fitness tracker of their choice, up to a $200 value! So, just how do you do this?, it's really simple. Go here then copy the Referrer URL. Send that link to all of your friends and coworkers. When they join, your name will automatically be filled in as the referrer in the registration form. The main page of this site will list the top referre…

  24. Started by Malcolm Needs,

On occasions, I have read a post, or even a new thread, having hit "All Unread Content" and been meaning to reply, but just do not have the time right then. The next time I log on, of course, the subject is no longer (or only rarely) there under "All Unread Content", and I have often forgotten the topic's title (let alone the forum in which it appears). Now, as many people, if not everyone knows, I am a profound IT idiot, so I honestly don't know the answer to this, but would it be difficult/ easy/ near impossible to add a button that allows me (or anyone else, come to that) to go back to the subject a bit later, without hours of searching?
