KKidd
My pathologist asked me to look up information on a "Purple Slide Test" in blood bank. The only thing close that I can think of is a KB stain. Does anyone know of this test? Thanks!
David Saikin
never heard of it . . . maybe you should ask him what it is for? Don't think its a K. No info on line under that name
Auntie-D
Could it be the modified KB that is being developed? If you do a KB then dip in Geimsa for 5 seconds it stains the nuclei making it easier to differentiate between lymphocytes and foetal cells. AuntiS
KKidd - I think maybe we share a pathologist? Seriously tho... what else could it be? We do the modified Kleihauer with hematoxylin, but I wouldn't call it purple.... s
John C. Staley
Seems like every time I think I've been around long enough to have heard of everything some body pops up with either something old that I missed along the way of something new that was trying to sneak by. Purple slide test could be either but I'm certainly not familiar with it. Maybe it's a new rapid test for royalty!
