Posted July 21, 201410 yr comment_56704 Hi there, I was hoping that someone could help me out with the following grouping anomalies and what their interpretation is. 1)what group would this be - reaction with anti-A -4+, Anti-B - neg, PVP-neg, A1 cells - 2+, B cells 4+ and O cells - 2+ 2)what causes this? reaction with anti-A - 4+, Anti-B -1+, PVP-neg, A cells- neg, B cells-4+ and O cells-neg. thanks Tricia
September 4, 20159 yr comment_61645 1 - a cold agglutinin - could have specificity (I,M) or not. would like to see an auto control 2. looks like an acquired B (if an old specimen out of the frigde or could be a weak subgroup of B (kind of rare).
September 4, 20159 yr comment_61646 I agree with id, BUT the monoclonal anti-B reagents produced these days are selected specifically so that they do not detect acquired-B. Was this a study question by any chance????????????
