    The ED trauma room currently has Hemonetics blood Track Manger. Staff compliance to scan blood product is 80%. We are currently moving to a new LIS (EPIC) and SOFT. Due to compliance and financial we are considering removing the hemonectics and only have a storage refrigerator. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to manage blood storage in a regular refrigerator? Can you connect BB software without a third party?

    I know this an old thread but if someone can share a QC template for tube method ; specifically what QC is done for Poly and IgG reagents. Do you perform DAT and use each reagent?

    I currently have a generic antigen test code built in Meditech. We are now performing a full RH K phenotype using Bio-rads phenotype cards. Does anyone have a RH K phenotype panel test code built in Meditech? What billing /CPT code is associated. Appreciate your help!

    Our second ABO confirmation is a reflex test . This label prints in blood bank and we send it to the clinical floor. We would like to have this label auto print in the clinical area. I would you like to know how other Meditech users manage ABO confirmation orders? Appreciate your help! Thanks, Eva

    Do you have a protocol how you manage spinning blood in this centrifuge. We have the same centrifuge and we are having similar issue . What is the time and RPM that you are using to spin?     Looking to streamline manual tube and gel QC documentation in a computer program. It is labor intensive to write lot numbers /exp, cards, for both test methods. If anyone has a computer program to share much appreciated.

    Hi All, We recently moved RHIG to pharmacy? I have a few questions that will help with our work flow. 1. Does Blood Bank notify pharmacy when RHIG is needed for a patient? 2. Does the clinical staff check EMR (Meditech 5.67) for test results and call pharmacy for the RHIG? 3. Does BB notify the clinical staff RHIG is needed. 4. If using TAR do you have RHIG orders on status board? Our test profile indicates RHIG eligibility and number of vials needed. The results are available in Meditech EMR. Pharmacy is demanding a notification (phone call) and clinical staff is to busy to check EMR results. When BB dispensed RHIG the clinical staff TAR status board demonstrated it was ready. I would like to have best practice for both clinical and laboratory but it seems that Pharmacy states it is a requirement for direct notification. Thanks,

    Is anyone using a download functionality to assay samples for the IH-1000 analyzer in Meditech ?

    At my facility we perform a mini cold panel and if positive (1+) reaction at 4C it is sent to reference for an cold antibody titer. I do not have a test code built in the computer to capture this process. Can someone share a procedure how one enters their cold antibody workup and titers into the computer system? My reference lab at this time is no longer performing cold antibody titers. I have one physician who routinely orders cold antibody titers. IF I implement titers testing then we would have to PT on this assay.

    I would like to know if KB test is performed in Blood Bank or Hematology? If using the Simmiler Test Kit do you count 1000 or 2000 adult cells. The test kit instructions sites an example and does not reference how many adult cells to count. Will the calculation change if you modified the total cells counted (i.e count 250 and x4 ) ?

    If the transfuse order is <25ml for a neonate do you have to centrifuge the unit prior to making the aliquot. I am looking to update my neonate protocol .If anyone has a protocol to share. I have a Heittch refrigerator centrifuge.

    Can blood bank technologist place orders for RHIG with a MD script for out patients? Our current policy requires physician to enter orders in the computer.

    Meditech users how to you manage the thawed pheresis plasma product in product dictionary. I built the frozen product for E1624VAO what is the thawed ISBT for this product? Will the ISBT thawed product code be the same for each divide AO,BO,CO.. Thanks Eva

    I am validating DAT's in the gel method (Biorads). I have several DAT's (Cord) positive in tube, confirmed LUI freeze ABO antibodies) negative in gel. Has anyone had this problem when validating in gel.
