Posted April 22, 201510 yr comment_60015 Can anyone tell me if they require a patient to sign a Transfusion Consent for RH Immune Globulin and/or Albumin? We are trying to standardize our practice and I don't know of a regulation that requires a Transfusion Consent for these plasma derived products. Thanks, in advance, for your input.
April 23, 201510 yr comment_60034 We don't require a consent to transfuse RhIg like we do for RBCs and other products.. At our institution, they are considered medications. However, a patient is always able to refuse treatment at any time.

April 23, 201510 yr comment_60043 RhIg and albumin are derivatives - do not require a transfusion consent.
