  1. I may be in the wrong "blog", but my question is, how many of you XM units first then type the compatible ones for the necessary antigens as opposed to antigen typing the units first then cross matching the antigen negative units?

  4. We use our Ortho check cells made to 0.8% as our positive control and the 0.8% Ortho screening cells for the negative control every day a DAT is done.

  9. Well I had my AABB/CAP inspection last week...did great, thank you, but she never once brought up the subject of expired panel cells....and neither did I. LOL

  12. Does any one use the ThermoCo HCBB1200 Temp Check electronic instrument? It looks like a flat scale.

  15. My helmer says to flush weekly...can't find flushing in AABB, and I don't see calibration in either.
  16. I have had an e (heterozygous) negative at 5 min then pos at 10 min by another tech. I let them all sit for 10 min now.
  17. We also enter it as an event wasting blood/blood components so it can be reviewed by the appropriate people.
  18. Yes, we charge the floor/unit responsible for the waste.
  19. I do not scan them. I do keep the panels as an antibody workup. I do place a comment that the Passive D is probably due to RhIG injection with the date it was received.
  20. We call them Passive D's if due to RhIG.
