Sherif Abd El Monem
Hello About ORTHO gel card ( for blood grouping and AHG ) can we spin it in Diamed centrifuge (10 minutes ) or this will affect the result ( false positive /false negative )? SMILLER
It may be seen as modifying Ortho's method, which means you would a have to have a great deal of data to validate it. On the other hand, if you can get Ortho to state that it is equivalent to their centrifuges (which may actually be made by Diamed!), then it seems like it would be OK. galvania
The reactions you will see in gel cards are based on the ability of un-agglutinated cells to pass through the material in the column to get to the bottom; and agglutinated cells to be retained. The centrifugation speed and the time of centrifugation are carefully calibrated so that that happens. But that is specific to factors such as the size of the card, the weight of the card, and numerous factors relating to the contents of the well (type of gel/beads etc) and everything you add to the well. So as the two cards are not the same, the parameters will need to be different as well. Malcolm Needs and Yanxia
galvania
Plus, if you have problems, neither Ortho nor DiaMed (now BioRad) would give you any support I guess Malcolm Needs, SMILLER and exlimey
