Posted December 17, 20204 yr comment_81365 I'm looking at the All Common CAP checklist for Serology (Transfusion Medicine). Anyone have a good plan for COM.40700?
December 22, 20204 yr comment_81375 I would mark it NA as I don't feel BB performs any "analytical" type of testing. That question is more in line w Chemistry or Hematology which generate numbers, not interpretive data.
December 23, 20204 yr Author comment_81376 That was my first thought. I dislike what they've done with the Transfusion Medicine checklist. The All Common items that used to be 'customized' for Blood Bank were in the Blood Bank checklist where they belong. Now it's a guessing game from an All Common list that is really focused on Chemistry - does this apply to BB? how does it apply to BB? what is this even aiming to achieve??? What used to be covered in one is now spread into 3 or 4 places. Thanks CAP!
December 23, 20204 yr comment_81377 I marked it down as N/A since it has to do with AMR's and such. At least that is my thinking. During our CAP inspection in September, my inspector didn't give it a second thought.
December 28, 20204 yr comment_81380 I don't think BB testing is analytical so I also mark this as NA. When it comes to BB testing, the patient is either positive or negative.
