We noticed that there was more breakage during thawing when stored at the colder temperatures. The thawing time depends on your thawing device. AMcCord Posted January 15, 2013 Share Posted January 15, 2013 We store at -70C. I agree with David...you will get more breakage unless you are very careful handling the units. We give them a few minutes at room temp so that the bags aren't still brittle before we place them in our Thermogenesis thawer. An FFP with 220 mL volume will thaw in 12-13 minutes in the Thermogenesis, so maybe 15 or 16 minutes total allowing for a few minutes at RT.
