  2. :nod:Very well said! Are you from IU?
  3. :faint:Our Reference Lab charges us $500 for molecular typings.
  4. It should only be a safety issue if you are trying to do the same thing.
  5. :rolleyes:Don't you know that was why Med Techs were put on earth? We give them someone to blame! ha
  6. We have done it through our rad. oncology department for many years. Currently, we are serving only a few patients, and plan to have our blood center irradiate for us and drop the :bonk: FDA inspection. It is just not worth the grief they put you though for 3 VERY long days. They look at everything. Good luck.

  8. :wave:Very well done. Mary from Columbus
  9. :surrenderWhy do you need an antibody screen for platelets? Good luck on always being able to obtain ABO/Rh specific platelets. I do agree with type specific, but they are not always available.
  10. Do you know the model number? There are pages of them on the internet. Does it work well?
  11. Our experience has been the same.

    HI

:clap:Welcome Stacey. You will learn a lot here. There are some great Blood Banks on this site.
  14. :disbeliefI agree, John. I am surprised that insurance payers don't complain if the patient did not have a C-section.
  15. Then I suppose the next question is, why isn't the price reduced on the second product?
  16. Do Blood Centers test each unit when 2 are collected at the same donation?
  17. We also discontinued the stickers a few months ago. Their was no value added by using them. It was just tradition.
  18. :clap:We have 3 of them and like them very well. No problems since we purchased the 1 1/2 yrs. ago. Helmer sells them and was helpful in setting up the sppeds and slow down times.
  19. :confused:I would be interested to known if the 3 companies agreed to bring their instruments in at the same time.
  20. Your document is very well done, but I think it will be more info than doctors can handle. I saved it for future use. Thanks.
  21. After reading about using infrared thermometers on this site to take the temperature of units issued in igloos, I purchased one of these. We had been using Temp Chek. I validated both thermometers with a NIST thermometer. Taking the temperature of the same unit, I got -0.6C with the infrared and 5C with the Temp Chek. I wonder if I am using the infrared incorrectly. I don't know which to believe. I would appreciate any advise.
