spavlis
Are Donor Centers still using Self Exclusion Cards for volunteer donors? It has been brought to my attention that most donor facilities are no longer doing this.Is there another process used?ThanksStephanie
Liz
You can add the information on the self-exclusion option to the pre-donation educational material and to the donor questionnaire. We have done both. Works well.
Cliff
We do not use these either. We do give the donor an info sheet that asks them to call us if they aren't feeling well or they decide they should not have donated."If after reading this sheet and making your donation you decide your blood should not be given to a hospital patient, if you develop any illness within 72 hours of your donation, or have any questions, please call:"

heathervaught
We also do not do the self-exclusion card any more. Just like Cliff, our donors take a half-sheet of paper with post-donation instructions on food, hydration, physical activitiy, and the number that they should call if they don't feel well after their donation or if they decide that their donation should not be used.
