BARC, FPTT, TAR) that are associated with partial D are located on the Rh protein? Are they neo antigens that are formed as a result of the gene mutations in partial D's ? Are they neo antigens that are formed as a result of the gene mutations in partial D's ?The answer is, yes they are on the RhD protein, and yes, they are neo-antigens formed as a result of the gene mutations in partial D.The amino acid residue substitutions alter the juxtaposition of all (or many) of the amino acid residues in the RhD protein (these juxtapositions being extremely important to the protein's expression).There is a quite frighteningly good explanation for this (together with an elegant figure) in Geoff Daniels book Human Blood Groups, 2nd edition, 2002, Blackwell Science, in the chapter on Rh.:D:D:D:D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
