RWOOD57
BCTA: Barcode-enabled Transfusion AdministrationAtlas keyword: BCTA | Page last updated: 1/20/10What is it:Using a component of the existing MEDITECH Blood Bank Module, Bar Code-enabled Transfusion Administration (BCTA) provides the ability to monitor and report on the delivery of blood products used in the provision of patient care. BCTA enables clinicians to scan the existing patient ID band and the bar code on the blood product to ensure that the correct product is being issued and delivered to the correct patient for administration. This capability is similar to the functionality introduced by the eMAR & Bar Coding project (now, BCMA, "Bar Code-enabled Medication Administration"). carolyn swickard
Does anyone "Live" on this have anytime to describe it and how it works? What Meditech version is it in? And what Blood Bank wristband do you use with it? I have seen the new Typenex wristbands with barcodes, but have not been able to figure out how to use them with our system (HCA Meditech v 5.6.2).Thanks for any time and help you can give.
