mtysarczyk
How are you handling tickets to sporting and other events? Are you providing tickets or vouchers to each donor or do you hold a random drawing for all presenting donors?
David Saikin
We used to get tickets for the NASCAR races in Bristol. For the 2 weeks prior to the race, anyone who registered to donate was eligible to win these. Our donations went up about 300% during that time frame. The community relations folks felt it was better to do all the registered donors vs only those who actually donated. The down side was that we registered a lot of donors who were deferred during the History/phsysical.
KariBethW
On all of our giveaways we give to all donors who register and it varies from drive to drive how many deferrals we end up with. We have had tickets to a local hockey game before and usually what they do is give us a coupon for the tickets I think. We have to stamp everything as "non-transferable" now and add the donors name to coupons as well.
Annabelle
We include all donors who register to donate-- this practice makes for better PR. A slip with the donor unit number is placed is created at the time of registration by a staff member.

spavlis
I know that around Christmas time, we send holiday cards to all our donors. In the card we thank them for their donation and info them about our raffle to some sporting event in January. So, the donors who show up to donate in January are entered into the raffle, but at the same all the donors were made of the incentive.
