  1. Our documentation is all done in our computer system (HCLL). During the division process, there is a box that asks if the weld was OK. Visiually, you roll the tubing completely around to make sure that not only did the weld lined up correctly, but that there are no leaks. If the weld failed, it would be considered an open system.
  2. We consider anti-D due to Rhogam as a passively acquired antibody and is therefore electronic crossmatch eligible.
  3. We don't, if we know they received Rhogam.
  4. I haven't seen anything with a solid date, although I hear this year. Hope it's sooner rather than later.
  5. Has anyone used this card? What did you think of it? I know it's not available in the US yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
  6. Also ticks the box for safety when the second type (for none type O patients) comes from a second separate sample.
  7. We do the same (except we remove the supernatant first). Also with 7 day outdate
  8. From the pictures I saw, it's like a mini Erytra. You can load and unload samples and gel cards while it's still actively running (just like the Erytra). It just doesn't hold as many samples or as many gel cards. It has 2 centrifuges, like the Erytra, but the solutions and the waste (liquid and gel cards) is more like the Wadiana. Although the picure I posted above is still on Diba Studios Facebook page, the hyperlink they have associated with the Eflexis no longer works. If I find any other info, I will post it.
  9. Here's a pic of the Erytra Eflexis.
  10. Grifols desktop model is called the Erytra Eflexis. I've been told that it's supposed to be coming out in Europe in 2017.
  11. Thank you for posting this side by side photo. I've seen pics of the vision, but couldn't get a handle of its size because there was nothing next to it for comparison. ?
  12. When I was doing validation for using buffer cards with anti-C3, my control well was just the patient/control red cell suspension. Nothing else was added.
  13. We aren't running poly DAT at this time. We're using the IgG gel cards and tube method for C3. (I have turned in my validation of using buffer cards with anti-C3, so hope to use that method soon. ?) Once Grifols poly cards are available here, we will use them.
  14. True, we do this for the Wadiana. It allows you to make changes as to the vials which run QC (i.e. Which vial you created as your positive DAT), but you can not make ANY changes to the QC vials that are run on the Erytra. The Erytra QC is hard coded. There is no access to the front end user, only Grifols technicians have access to that. Since Grifols does not make a positive DAT that the Erytra recognizes as QC, our facility has chosen not to use its DAT function. Once we get our second Erytra, we will lose our wadiana and then it's back to manually doing DATs (but at least it'll be in gel! ?)
  15. That card that Malcolm posted looks like one from Diamed (Bio-Rad bought them out), which you can't get here in USA. I've scrounged around that site, can't find what they use to QC that card.
  16. I believe this is the main reason why we continue to do these types of titers by tube method. However, for isohemaglutinin titers (used for BMT or renal transplants, etc.) we use tube for IgM and gel for IgG.
  17. We've been running IgG DATs on our analyser (Provue--->Wadiana) for large part of that time. Although we have an Erytra, we haven't used it for DATs due to the lack of a positive whole blood control that the system would recognize as QC.
  18. We've done adult IgG DATs in gel for the over a decade. There was an increase in the number of positives (due to gel being more sensitive), but don't remember how significant it was.
