Yesterday he was admitted for TKR and needed blood transfusion. While reconfirming the group from fresh sample the reaction in Anti D ( Diamed gel) shows 1+ reaction. Read about antibodies going down by age and also A and B antigen but any one has any referance confirming D antigen weakening due to age.Thanks. Malcolm Needs ☆ Posted December 12, 2012 Share Posted December 12, 2012 I haven't, but I have read about weakening of Rh antigens due to myeloid leukaemia, polycythemia and other myeloproliferative disorders.
