L106
eltonsey....Where are you, and what are some of the problems and "hot topics" among your colleagues who are likely to attend your workshop?Depending on where you are and what the current practices are, your colleagues might want to hear about:1. Improving the training of the technical staff2. Improving basic quality of routine testing and transfusion practices3. Inspections and Accreditation requirements4. New techniques and technologies that are available5. Automation in Blood Banks, Blood Centers, & Transfusion Services6. Computer Systems7. Cost Control in Blood Banks, Blood Centers, & Transfusion Services8. Case studies involving patient antibody problemsIt really all depends on what your regional problems and interests are. L106
excuse me what do you mean by improving the basic quality of routine practices is it monitering assessment quality indicatorsOh, it could be just about anything. Improving the quality of the testing you do on the donor units, improving your customer service (ie: your hospitals' blood banks would be your customers), improving Turn-Around-Times for delivery of blood products to the hospital, improving blood utilization and transfusion practices (ie: acting as a consultant to hospital physicians when they have questions about treating certain coagulopathies, etc.) The list is endless.Donna
adiescast
You could also talk about inventory management and blood conservation (particularly if some of your client hospitals are the target audience).
