John C. Staley
Is anyone using wireless barcode scanners with their computer systems? If so could you provide a few details like make, model, how well they work?ThanksJohn:pcproblem
Eoin
Hi John,We use Mysis( or more correctly Sunquest as it went Sunquest - Mysis - Sunquest). They have been promoting a wireless PDA with scanner to us. It is due for release in the fall. I think they are calling it Transfusion Manager and it looks like it would close a lot of Traceabiliy and Haemovigilance gaps for us so we will be looking at it. It is due for release in the Fall (Going through FDA at the moment I believe). It is probably just for use with Sunquest though.Regards Eoin
BB001
John, Are you looking to use a wireless barcode scanner in the blood bank or are you looking for a point-of-care (patient bedside) system? Regards, BB001
John C. Staley
Sorry for not providing the details. I'm hoping to find a wireless barcode scanner to be used at the bench for bringing in units of blood products, recording patient sample ID, etc. Essentially to scan info into the computer system at the bench. We have the ones wired to the computer but they can be a real pain and it would be nice to be able to getup and walk away to scan things. Also, it never fails that some one will drag the cord across the bench causing a disaster.
