Would your blood center go-live on a new component software version or system and implement ISBT 128 simultaneously?

We will go live next Spring with a new computer system (SoftBank), but how can you implement ISBT if the vendor for your Blood does not have it implemented? We get our Blood from ARC but no word yet.

We too are implementing a new system. It will have the ability to input many unit number formats, including ISBT. Ask your vendor, it should not be one or the other. ISBT will be a long implementation process.

I work in a Donor Center that will be implementing ISBT and a new computer system at the same time. Our customers will be using both ISBT and Codabar.

Digi-Trax's Hema Trax.LPS on-demand US Consensus Standard compliant ISBT128 labeling software has been integrated into most of the major blood bank management software systems and we are discussing integration with the few remaining companies. We can tell you who is who if you like.

Are Hospital Transfusion Services aware that the American Red Cross has sent information out about their ISBT128 Implementation to all regions? They plan to begin implementation next summer in the North East region.

Have any hospitals received this information and what are their plans?
