IDM's new manufacturing system Interlude will allow ISBT 128 numbers to be used for pooled products. We anticipate blood centers designating a particular facility number or the 6th and 7th characters in the donation identification number to be for pools.

Do you think it will be necessary to support all current bleed number formats or just ISBT 128 in a new host computer system in 2006 or later?

Would your blood center go-live on a new component software version or system and implement ISBT 128 simultaneously?

If donors were using a self-administered computer interview that utilized the New Uniform Donor Health History Questionnaire and they pressed the Not Sure button to answer a question it would give an alternate version of the question to help clarify the original question being asked. This alternate question would allow the donor a second opportunity to respond yes/no/not sure to the question before being directed to a staff member for help. Do you see this as being a regulatory problem for your blood center or the FDA?

The company that I work for IDM is currently developing a computer assisted interactive interview that would include this information. We are looking for feedback on what blood centers would desire in this type of product. Any suggestions?

If malarial maps and medication lists were available in an automated interview process would it be a more helpful reference tool for the donors or the staff reviewers :?:
