Hi All Just a few questions on ruling out. Section 6.2.4 describes at least two examples expressing the antigen I am assuming this applies to IAT and Enzyme testing reactions separately (assuming antibody reacts by enzyme) and also that this can be homozygous or heterozygous expression of the antigen ? It does state in 6.2.6 that a single example can be excluded if homozygous for anti Jka/Jkb, S/s and Fya/Fyb. Thanks

At the hospital I work, homozygous cells are preferred for rule outs but if we can't find a homozygous cell, we generally use three for all heterozygous cells or so I thought. Yesterday, a co-worker tells me that we don't use 3 heterozygous cells because Kell doesn't show dosage. I am concerned because I looked it up in a textbook and Kell occasionally shows dosage. My question is not a who is right, who is wrong situation, but what I would like to know what is your procedure at your hospital? I also want to be certain because I want to be safe. Yes, I am fairly new to the field - 6 months experience. Thanks!

Question, Our transfusion service oversees the issue of rhogam to patients. by reading the package insert it is unclear about the dosing of over 5 shots. Does anyone have any information about how shots should be given, if you are giving over 5?
