Fluffy agglutinates reacted to John Eggington in Rhogam Post Amnio
Also, I think that using a 'post amnio' sample to look for antibodies that may have been stimulated by the 'amnio' may be a bit unreliable. It will have been taken very shortly after the event (to get a reliable FMH estimation), so a later sample is more likely to detect additional/new antibodies, as well as giving a better idea of whether existing antibodies have been 'boosted'.

Fluffy agglutinates reacted to galvania in Point of Care Rh testing
I know it's way off the point but I think it's a really sad indictment of so-called rich countries that people have to go without ESSENTIAL health care through lack of money

Fluffy agglutinates reacted to Liz in Point of Care Rh testing
I mean I prefer Blood Bank results and RhIg does not need to be given STAT. If the results are wrong and RhIg is given, it won't harm but it is awfully expensive. What about the FMH and KB test..for the # of vials to administer. I agree with glucose POC. I dont even get the cholesterol POCT.

Fluffy agglutinates reacted to fenwayman in Specimen Labeling
I work at a multi system hospital that has always employed computer generated labels.
I prefer them to hand written for several reasons
1)legibility-no mistake on who the patient is and their mr# 2)clerical errors-opens the door to errors in interpretation of who you are dealing with.
3) label at the bedside-we had a case several years ago where the nurse had collected a patient in a semi-private room(patient had one room mate) and labelled both patients blood work at the nursing station which lead to a sentinel event-patient eventually died as a result of not labeling at the bedside-can't imagine this practice would even go on anywhere.
I would try all I could do to convince your director to switch from hand written to computer generated and push for Labeling at The Bedside

Fluffy agglutinates reacted to RR1 in GMP Training
Have attached the GMP presentation we used this year (from which the documentation extracts were from)- if of use to anyone else. May be others could also share their ones so we can build up a good pool to mix and match for next year?
Many thanks!

Fluffy agglutinates reacted to Malcolm Needs in Can't find expiration dates anywhere!
If this were so, it is now largely outdated by the fact that most samples used these days are EDTA, which means that there will be no active complement in them (Ca++, Mg++ and Mn++ being chelated by the EDTA).
