[Convalescent Plasma]

I built the product codes in SafeTrace but as FFP product, can not figure out how to build as a new product and set up billing, we use eIND so are charged for the products. Would like this to be orderable as conv. plasma through Cerner to cross into SafeTrace but unable to get this to work.

[Elution issues]

We use the Hemobioscience EluClear kit and having issues with gel testing. We see erroneous results with gel at times. Anyone else have these problems? I'm considering switching to tube testing only for eluates.

We currently have Haemonetics SafeTrace for our blood bank but looking at Cerner Blood Bank since our hospital uses Cerner for our LIS. Anyone that uses Cerner for blood bank, can you please tell me what you like and dislike about it? And how does it compare to SafeTrace?

We use the Vision and sometimes see Weak D patients test 3+ for Anti D on the instrument.  We always do a tube type for a patient with no history on either the same for unbanded or separate 2nd specimen for a banded patient.  If the tube D is negative we call them weak D and give rhogam if needed.

For both situations we would give IAT and immediate spin crossmatch compatible blood, would not worry about finding antigen negative units.
