All you need is a little history! Originally ">" was for whole blood derived, and "─" was for apheresis derived red cells. Then we decided "Apheresis" was already part of the name of an apheresis red cell and we didn't need twice as many codes. So, we retired all the "─" codes (when we developed a method of retiring codes in 2008). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

So how about a suggestion to create an "active" db and a "retired" db.
