Megan Martinez Posted December 12, 2010 Share Posted December 12, 2010 Hey, it is a quiet Sunday so I decided to drain and clean our Helmer 8 - slot plasma thawer. I thought it had some patches of mold, but it must be deposits from tap water (?).....whatever it is, I cannot get it clean! Tried hospital-style Comet; CLR; and lots of elbow grease to no avail. Eagle Eye Posted December 13, 2010 Share Posted December 13, 2010 Good Luck!! it looks like you had broken plasma and may be your tech. did not get to clean it ASAP. we had similiar situation and we had yellow stuff like scrambled eggs and the valve was clogged. mjshepherd Posted December 13, 2010 Share Posted December 13, 2010 If it is due to a broken plasma bag believe it or not I had great luck with Dawn dish soap. I drained the waterbath, and put the Dawn straight on the "crud" let it sit for 15 min. then scrubbed it with a nail brush. Let me know if this works for you.
