The way the proposed standard is worded, they would have to take the chart into the room with them to verify the orders. I don't see that happening in actual practice. It is hard enough to get them to check the patient's armband instead of checking the chart at the nursing station...Perhaps it would be a good idea to make a comment, since the comment period is still open.
