A lot depends on where you are (ie which country), what your workload is, and how the samples come into the lab. There are lots of different possibilities out there - remember it's not only the instrument that's important, but also what sort of after-service support you will get!

If you check on previous forums, there have been many discussions on this topic. Put 'automation' in the search field - I'm sure you will come up with lots of information
