platelet count vs. platelet yield

I do not currently work at a donor center so I am not familiar with the determination of platelet yield. I do know a standard dose is 3x10^11 to 6x10^11.

We currently receive platelets with a platelet count and platelet yield listed on the unit. Can someone explain the differenc between these two measurements

Is platelet count a 4-digit number, such as 1521? If so , then that is the concentration of platelets (K/uL) in the plasma.

Standard dose is 3.0 x10^11, but our donor center counts each product, so we pass that info along to the customer.
