John C. Staley Posted October 28, 2009 Share Posted October 28, 2009 Forget what other facilities do. Check with the manufacturer and find out if the pump has been approved for use with platelets. I have always been skeptical of pumps and platelets. In my way of thinking platelets are fragile enough under normal storage, thoughts of running them through a pump always bothered me. I always checked to see if the pumps were approved for platelets before agreeing to allow "my" platelets to be run through one. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
