avarela
Hello all, I have frequented this site as a visitor for a while and decided to join. I am a MT at the San Diego Blood Bank (large blood center) and have just taken a new position as a Process Improvement manager. I will be facilitating LEAN events and eventually implement Six Sigma tools for process improvement. I also have a focus on improving customer service. Since this is my first post I need a little help. What is the best forum to share info about process improvement? Thanks and looking forward to being a part of this forum.Angela
donellda
Hi Angela! Thanks for the introduction! Congratulations on your new position! The forum for posting process improvement topics would probably be Quality for now. I am looking for to reading your posts about Six Sigma and Lean. I have been incorporating some of the ideas from Lean into my own Blood Bank. (I sneak them in gradually so my staff doesn't rebel;))
lehooke
Hi Angela,Congrats on your new position. So nice to see someone I know on this site. My name is Lisa H. and I am the new Blood Bank Supervisor at Alvarado Hospital. Remember me? How are the kids? My daughter is 13 now and in 8th grade.I have not posted a message before, but am very impressed with all of the blood bankers that use this forum to share information. I look forward to hearing from you and all others as I embark on this new journey. After being a generalist for 25 years, it's quite a change reporting to the same dept. each day, not to mention the added responsibility and stress!! Take care.
