Sallie Coron Posted May 25, 2005 Share Posted May 25, 2005 I recently read an article in Transfusion magazine regarding allowing 16 year olds to donate blood. This is premitted in 6 states. I would like to know if this is a state law or does it fall under the guidelines of the FDA and/or the AABB? Any information on this subject would be greatlty appreciated. Lynn Posted June 1, 2005 Share Posted June 1, 2005 Our donor centers will take 15 & 16 year old donors (usually directed) with a parental authorization and MD approval.
