I am in the process of validating DATs on the TANGO and had some issues today with the negative DATs; the cell button on some were huge and the analyzer was interpreting them as ?. I spoke with technical support and they indicated to mix the samples and centrifuge at a lower speed so the cells are not so packed. It helped, but did not alleviate the problem. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

My facility is in the final stages of implementing an OB Hemorrhage Protocol, which will be different than our Massive Transfusion Protocol. The California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative is an excellent resource for information on OB Hemorrhage. This is a link to their website https://www.cmqcc.org/ob_hemorrhage. Hope this helps!

I actually had an incident come up recently that was similar to this. I had a tech who thought it was acceptable to rule-out using different methods. He could not rule-out everything in Gel, so he completed the rule-outs using PEG. I recently started this position and this is the first time I have encountered this. All my previous experience was in an IRL and this would not have been acceptable there. Thoughts?

I am wondering if there is a way to document mixed field reactivity encountered in ABO/Rh testing in Sunquest. Thanks!
