Dear All, Per FDA reg for temperature requirements it is not a time issue, but a temperature issue. For platelets, if they are kept at room temperature (20-24) they can be returened up to 24 hours later. This is because the max allowed time without agitation is 24 hours. For the FFP, yes you can use the Safe-T-Vue, but only if the FFP has been refrigerated for about 1-2 hours prior to issue. Hope this helps and maybe you can save a few platelets.
