Our hospital is in Southern CA. The pathology group serves 3 community hospitals with 3 1/2 pathologists. They are trying to add one more since the 1/2 pathologist is retiring. Ideally, they would add 2 doctors to the team. They are getting very few applicants. And since the cost of living is very high here and the reimbursement is not good, no good candidate has accepted the wage offer. It is a sad situation.
