  1. How much is enough validation - and what is too much? Where does one even begin - for validating electronic crossmatch. thank you Jersey
  2. Yes we have support until June 2007. I have heard of a site who had a Oct 06 date and others with Dec 06 date as well. Could it be the contract date? I'm not really sure why we have different dates.
  3. Hello, Does anyone know of a third party company that will provide support to the Hemocare BB System after June 2007? thank you Jersey
  4. You are so right! We have asked these questions and I have not been given any answers... So far the doctors have asked for a running total! But have not clarified if pc's only or FFP etc etc.. Or if they want it for the exp of the specimen , day or stay.. This is why I have reached out to the forum.. Maybe someone has invented the wheel and willing to share :-) In meditech how do you identify which test will print with the hem results? thank you in advance
  5. Our Physicians view lab results via our Physician Portal, this is the reason why we need the information to cross into our HIS System. To date the only thing I can think of is have a test created called "X" and the BB tech will have to increment this. ( ugly .. yes.. painful... yes and not 100%.. a problem ). Nursing today is documenting manually number of units received but not being done 100%. Has anyone else ever gotten a request like this before?
  6. I am told a number of our Physicians are asking for this particular request. They would like to have the BB system transmit the number of units transfused via the result interface. The Number of units are to increment during the patient stay. Is anyone doing this? How? Which BB System allows such a thing. I would like to know: Do they want this per specimen? Per Visit? Per Blood Product ( or all )? Per lifetime? etc etc. Any feedback will be very much welcomed.
  7. Julie, Congrats on your go-live! How are you able to do a Blood Utilization Review? Is there a standard report available? thank you Jersey
  8. We have looked at a few Blood Bank Systems this year. The "Bells and Whistles" today are color screens, popups etc etc.. Patient Safety is addressed with the "players" no doubt about that! What about Management / Standard Reports? This is an essential factor and in my opinion a big one in the decision making. If you are running the latest version of your blood bank system please tell me about your management reports. For example but not limited to: Did your site decide to write customized reports instead? Are you still having to do manual tallies to get the data you need from multiple sources? Can the reports distinguish between multi-facility? Etc.. Any report you fell is the best standard report your system has, please let me know as well. any info thank you Jersey
  9. Hello All, Our Site is very seriously considering HCLL as our BB solution. Is anyone LIVE yet? I don't know of anyone in New Jeresy who is live. One of our sites has Hemocare and the other has Misys. Anything quirkie with this verison? How are the Management reports? Our current Hemocare site has to do alot of manual data gathering. Anyone interface HCLL to their LIS? thank for the info. Jersey
  10. Our Site has been looking at BB systems as well as the LIS. At the moment we are considering 3. SCC Soft BB, McKesson Wyndate and Misys. Can any former or current users tell me how the install, conversion and stability of the product and support has been? Was the vendor "true" and did not provide vaporware? How much customization did you have to do because the product did not met your needs " out of the box".? What concerns me is everyone can do a terrific demo and have a "show case site". I am new to the forum and hoping the users will speak the truth. No systems is perfect and we do have our favorites! I won't say what our current system is but I have only had to make 1 crystal report for the blood bank. ( the standard reports for BB are fantastic ) thank you in advance Jersey!
