Prilly
As my lab is on the Fast Track to becoming a Joint Commission Lab, we are trying to get all our ducks in a row. The question on the table is 'What would be an appropriate way to perform Quality Control on Wright stain?' I would appreciate anyone sharing examples of how other labs take on this task. SMILLER
In our wright-stain procedure we have a chart detailing the characteristics of a good stain (pink-orange granules in neutrophils with purple chromatin, etc.). Our daily maintenance log sheet includes a "check stain quality" box to check off. JCAHO has never commented on this, so I would think it is adequate.
