taburg1
Is there a platelet count that points to the sample being hemolyzed? Had a sample with low rbc and mcv but normal mchc. The smear had intact rbcs and the platelet count was high but verified on the smear with no clumping. The sample was grossly hemolyzed and trying to figure out what prompts others to suspect hemolysis.
Auntie-D
What colour was the plasma when you centrifuged it?
cryan
i can agree to the question, usually you can suspect a hemolysis depending on the color of the sample becasue it does have a distinct darker color when it underwent hemolysis. it really takes a lot of experience to be able to distinguish samples by mere observation but of course it need proper testing to confirm such presumptions.
