Atypical antibody notification

Recommended Posts

When clinically significant antibodies are detected during pretransfusion testing what specific standard requires notification to be given to the patient and should this notification be done by the patient's Physician or Transfusion Service. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks, Nick.

I agree with John's comments. Make sure the physician knows and also keep a record permanent in your institute/blood bank. It should also be able to be retrieved whenever the patient visit your institute/blood bank again and alert you to select antigen-negative blood.

Hope that helps.
