Tony R
If any one is using safe-t-vue temp. indicators and would like to share their ideas as to how and how often we need to validate them I would appreciate some input. Also can the quality assurance form that comes with each lot number be used as validation? Thanks for your input.Tony
Likewine99
I keep the QA forms that come with them and when I do the yearly cooler validations I put them on the units that are in the cooler. I validate my coolers for 8 hours since they are only used to take blood to the ED for traumas.

adiescast
We validated the Safe-T-Vues when we first started using them. We put the Safe-T-Vue on a refrigerated bag of saline and checked it at refrigerator temperature and at room temperature. We took the temperature of the unit at room temperature every 5 minutes and correlated it with the color change in the indicator until the indicator was fully red.
