unusual case

Recommended Posts

I am working on a antibody id case. It is a female with 3 miscarriages.

Her antibodies panel is all positive at PeG-IAT except the patient contol. Ficin-IAT are neg, DTT-PeG-IAT are all pos. Ch-, Rg- cells are still pos. 2 out of 3 Ge -2 cells are neg.

But the patient was typed as Ge2+. Further id, Ficin-PeG-IAT all came back pos except the pt. control. DAT neg tube and gel.

It is not Ena because she is M-N+

Also she is Vel+

Also anti-Tja ruled out.

Any one has any suggestion or ideas?

Please share. Thanks.

More information please! Do you know her ethnic background? What is her blood type? Were there any reactions at immediate spin? How strong is the reactivity? Since the enzyme-treated cells only reacted when tested with PEG, does that mean this antibody is non-reactive without enhancement media? What does it look like if tested by LISS 37/IAT, Gel or with no enhancement? Did you try to titrate it? Could underlying antibodies be interfering with your results? Will it adsorb and elute?

The patient is white. IS neg, RT neg, 4C positive with sc I,II, III. AC neg, Cord cells neg. Blood type group B/D positive.

PeG-IAT 2+, Ficin-IAT neg, DTT-PeG-IAT 2+. Anti-Ch/Rg ruled out.

Only 2 Ge:-2 panel cells are neg at PeG-IAT.

No LISS or Gel were tested.
