More times that we care for the Ortho Provue generates error codes. These error codes cause us to shut the instrument down and reboot it. This causes a delay in patient testing. On error "unexpected occurance has occured", another error code "another user is operating QC" there are no other users. Do anyone else experience this problem, if so what was the fix.

We started using the Provue in 2013. Currently when testing prenatal and maternal patients to determine if a patient is a candidate for RhIg immune globulin or Rhogam, we perform tube and weak D testing. Considering the AABB Std that weak D testing is not required, we looked at dropping it all together (except cords and neonatal testing), The Provue ABD gel card package insert says it will detect nearly all forms of D antigen so we are considering using the Provue result exclusively. A quick survey of other labs with Provues in our area shows most are still using weak D testing to various degrees. If you use a Provue, did you drop weak D testing? Or do you only perform weak D if there is a +1 or +2 reaction in gel as some facilities are doing? thanks.

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of the upload and download codes for the Provue interface in Meditech? The Meditech website has some of them, but a few years ago I had an old print out from someone's conversation with meditech that had many many more things like the Antibody panels, different DATs, antigens, antibodies. I lost that or someone threw it out along the way somewhere. I've contacted meditech as well, but they're slow to respond.

If the ProVue interprets a well as "?" and sends it to the rack for technologist review, do you repeat the work or modify the results based on visual inspection of the card?

Hello, all. I'm working on a Provue interface with Meditech 6.0 and it's working perfectly, all we need to do is validate it. I came across old Meditech magic 5.xx validation suggestions and one of the scenarios mentioned the patient's name and date of birth and specimen number appearing on the Provue after hitting the host button on the Sheet tab. Is this something that should be happening in Meditech 6.0. After I add the patient to the interface in meditech ( "Y" in the space about using the barcode number as the identifier, otherwise it uses the date and BB# and the Provue doesn't know what to run on it) I load the specimen, hit scan, and all that appears is the barcode number. I don't see this as a big issue---it's how most every other analyzer works---but if the name and other info can populate into the Provue, then I should at least look into it. The Provue recognizes the barcode number perfectly fine and knows which tests to run. Should I worry about this at all? Thanks.
