    The seal around the port is cracked, not the unit itself. Sharol.

    How do other IRLs handle cracked seals while deglycing frozen units...the act of deglycing exposes the unit to air thus the 24 hour expiration. Currently, our component lab will discard the unit if the seal is broken, which seems a tragic waste of rare units, when they would be subject to a 24hr expiration anyway. There should be some way to save rare units rather than discarding them. Sharol

    Re: the use of Gamma clone murine anti-IgG lacking the ability to detect IgG 4 subclass, these types of antibodies (mostly JMH and some Chido) are not clinically significant and are more of a nuisnance anyway... Sharol

    Thanks for the response, what is a chown tube, and where can I find more information about it?

    I became interested in the idea of screening for the U antigen when looking in Issit for information on the U antigen and anti-U. Apparently, McKeever, et.al performed a study, but Issit did not have any more information about any screening programs currently in place. Does any one have any information about this subject?
