The invitation is open to members of this site, your friends and significant others. I have a reservation for 10, so please respond to this post so I can update the reservation if needed.

It would be very helpful if you could pay in advance, that will avoid the awkward collecting of money on the night of the dinner.

    Please send payment to:

    Sounds Great!!!

I shall be there. I'll pay once there if thats ok.

Thank you Cliff. But I could have missed this new thread. I am not very computer smart, I happened to click the link. Do you want to also post it on the other thread to which everyone is already subscribed?

  2. It sounds like this is the best plan for everyone, agreed? A dinner would be a lot harder to coordinate.

So, is this the new plan?

To accommodate everyone, i would keep both options. Dinner is looking good for most except Mabel and Colleen. And I will arrange with Mabel where to meet and announce it. Dinner isnt that hard, is it? I am coming from far far far away so is the problem the reservation? I love red lobster but have always had to wait (with or without a reservation). So if you really cannot reserve we can go to McDo as you said, but it would be a disapointment.

What are your thoughts on this Cliff?

For dinner we have: Nine members as per below. Its your call Cliff, I dont know. I would just walk into a restaurant and ask to be seated but i guess that may not work :chew::angered: ahhmm sorry if i missed someone please writ your name and ooo we can take a vote (or poll). I am just happy to come over and hopefully meet you all.

  3. Thank you for the clarification. I dont have that test, maybe i should. We perform the KBT.

Regarding the AABB statement: "... rarely a positive weak D test can be caused by a partial D antigen": this is key to the whole wording. It means that it may not be weak but partial and the mom may thus get alloimmunised. So give RHIG and lets ask them at the meeting. the way i see it this last statement confuses the first part of not giving rhig and seems to be what one may call a disclaimer... ""we told that it may be partial so be careful". this leaves the decision up to you. I do beleive we should give rhig.

Thank you, interesting.I shall look up the test too. Is it a requirement?

  4. What is a fetal bleedscreen ? And I am not sure I understand what you are asking. Moms that are weak D may form anti-D if baby is D positive. So we consider them D negative and they are given RHIG, thats what you said, so what is the question?

ok I read your post again. AABB says that they are not candidates for RHIG. Hmmm i must check that. In reality if they are mosaic they may form anti D so they should recieve rhig unless you want to check molecularly. But better to be even more cautious than AABB if that is written and what is your concern? you wont get cited write your internal SOP on this. I hope i got you right.

Dont forget to tell me what you mean by a fetal bleedscreen.

  5. I see BBT site sponsors Quotient, GenesisBPS and Helmer booths are all near each other. There's more room near the Genesis booth although there may not be anyplace there to eat.

I am registered for the luncheon talks. Lets try to make it so it doesn't conflict with those. There are always the coffee breaks. I will check my schedule and post again. We can always go to the International lounge :)

  6. I get in late on Friday and am booked in the evenings until Tues. And then may try to meet a friend that lives back there. :( Anyone want to plan a meeting spot at the CTTXPO during one of the on-site lunches like we did last year? It's not as long to talk but still a chance to put a name to a face.

I'll meet up with you, dying to get to know you. No need for food or seats, we can chat and walk around. There is always a booth to sit in or something similar.

Mabel just set the date and time.

    Anyone else??

  7. We all had a badge each after I asked for them years ago. Then following the years of negative results, I asked for ones for only those who actually use the irradiator and not just wander around.

There is also a wall one. Cant be too careful :)

  8. If you dont come we will feel someone we know is missing! If you really cannot then try for next year from NOW. OK? Ok! Maybe its good you are jealous, because this way you will make the effort.... a year passes so quickly. I cannot believe I have been around for 7 years, it is as if I know everyone!!

  9. as mentioned above: DO NOT VOLUNTEER INFORMATION and JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION AND STOP. You may suddenly even get comfortable but be careful at that point NOT TO BLURT OUT things that you shouldnt or things that will lead him/her to ask you certain things. Stick to his questions and be short and have back up docs if he asks. and agree on things that you will refer to your director, we did this as certain things were ordered but had not arrived.. so that works.

  10. Ditto the others advice. I would also add being very organized for the Inspector's benefit. I make a spread sheet with every single question and the "answer" to the question. Page numbers in the procedure manual that address xyz, where in the file cabinet, etc. I have print outs of everything that wants documentation with the TRM # on it so they can reference it on their own. I have had over 10 inspections with this approach and its gone great. This is all in an envelope that I can then just hand them after their arrival.

    Good Luck.

    Yes absolutely, we do that!!

  11. Scott, you need a back up (2 Architect i1000 s). Other than that it is near to perfect. Rarely breaks down ever. But if and when, its a long time to repair. The hard drive went kaput and OMG. the day to day work is great. Very senstive and you should get a % of false pos. We have 2 Architect i2000 s!! very pleased. send your own engineers to train they are the first liners.

  12. They say walk, jog until the you are so tired the anxiety/worry is gone. It works. I believe in the breathing method too. Yoga, meditate. The inspectors btw are stressed :)

Its all alright believe me NO ONE IS OUT TO GET YOU. and please dont be the one to criticize yourself. You definitely are a perfectionist and thats hard to live with, be easy on yourself. You seem to be doing a great job!

  13. I agree with Dr Pepper for adults.

For Peds we give compatible platelets with regards to the ABO antibody in the platelet collect.

D negative females from birth until menopause are given D Neg and if not then RhIg is advised and given... it lasts quite a bit so it covers the series of transfusions, if any, in oncolgy cases.

Yes, if there is a poor response it may be due to the antibodies hitting the ABO on the platelets, so we switch to ABO compatible. AB would be ideal but.... who has enough, we keep them for emergencies and for the ABs.
