  1. Excellent advise to check out the company in detail before making a choice to partner with a company to help protect your valuable products. You want a company that will be protect your data and support your temp monitoring system for years to come. A few suggested questions to ask: How long has the company been involved in automatic temperature monitoring? Does the company design, own and manufacture thier own products? Does the system require pc's or servers to operate? Can the sensor/logger be placed directly in the unit (no drilling or seal breaches)? Is the data securely stored by a third party? Is the system scalable? What is the average costs for a 5, 20, and 200 sensor system? Do the sensors (loggers) continue to take readings in the event of power or internet loss? Do you own your data? Would be glad to answer any other questions anyone has regarding automatic temperature monitoring. JD
  2. As the COO of a wireless temperature monitoring and compliance reporting company, I fully agree with your concerns about the lack of reliability of wireless. Some systems overcome most of the issues, so let’s see what they are: 1. Systems with a cellular-like redundant reader network have multiple sensors trained on the same sensor. Where wired systems seem better connected, they do not have a reader redundancy standard. 2. Wireless sensors keep past data can give it back when the LAN/WAN or network faults are fixed. Wired systems that have the same LAN/WAN problems but have no memory if their cabling or wire gets severed. 3. Sensors have long life batteries and require no service for 10 years. They can be placed anywhere inside the cold space. Also their appliances can be moved or rearranged easily. 4. Wireless sensors can cost 10% of an installed wired sensor. Customers can double up wireless sensors to increase reliability, so much more reliable at only 20% the cost.
