    Our blood center has a lot of staff turnover due to the varied work schedules that the collections staff have to work. How have other blood centers dealt with this issue? Have you heard of block scheduling and how successful has it been for you?

    We also perform Hgb on blood donors using hemocue. We do not use the regulated survey either.

    I am Beth, Director of Operations at the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas in Charlotte N.C. I have been with this new independent blood center since it was started in Sept 2002. Prior to this, I worked in transfusion medicine for over 20 years.
