jdo1217's Achievements

  1. In my former BB when we were validating our red cell washer for use with PUBS-FIT, we checked the protein content of the last wash supernatant to verify that the number of washes (can't remember whether it was 2 or 3) was adequate.
  2. With a historical antibody that was demonstrating the last time we tested, we run a selected cell panel consisting of one cell positive for the known antibody and enough cells to rule out everything else. If the antibody stops demonstrating, we go back to our 2-cell screen to save money. Antigen-negative units are crossmatched via AHG.
  3. I used to work at a Level I trauma center. We'd get diagnoses of "GSW to buttocks" (didn't run fast enough), "car vs. pedestrian" (pedestrian never won), but my all-time favorite was one Xmas season when the diagnosis was "car vs. walmart." Jane
