ABIDer
I'm interested in hearing if other labs have a delta check set up for INRs. If so, what is the delta and for what time interval.
Auntie-D
Not on our lab system, but we do have a 'percentage in range' on Dawn7 dosing software. If it falls outside of parameters it takes away automatic dosing and requires a person to manually dose. With lab INRs we would phone an INR > 2 (first time only) on a non-warfarinised patient and >5 (first time) on a warfarinised patient.
nziegler
we got rid of any kind of delta checks for PT/INR years ago. our logic was that it is not improbable for the results to vary one week to the next (even one day to the next) depending on the dose, the time, and what the person ate that day. we were easily repeating about half our samples due to the delta check. (we have also gotten rid of that policy - repeating delta's) Auntie-D
