Online Donor Appts

Recommended Posts

Do your donors have the ability to schedule appointments via the internet (ie a web page scheduling system)? If you have such a tool what are you using?

If you don't have a tool, but are looking, what system are you looking at and what price range would you expect to have to pay?

Our web site is www.donorpoint.org. It is administered by eDonor. I was not on the team that made the decision to purchase it, so I can't speak to our cost. I do know that we had 3,000 donors sign up for on-line accounts within the first week, and that we have seen that over 75% of donors keep their appointment when it is made online, versus approximately 50% of donors who keep their appointment when we make it over the phone.

You can see how the donor scheduling interface works without setting up an account by clicking on the "Not Yet a Donor? Make an Appointment Now!" link.

Yes, we implemented a program from eDonor at the end of March. This program allows donors to schedule online at a designated website. This is a bit of a culture change for us as we have not focused on sheduling donors in the past. Since the our program is new the number of donors scheduling themselves is small but growing daily.

Another part we are using is the donor loyality program. Donors receive "points" for their donations and can obtain extra points for scheduling online and keeping their appointments. The donor then can spend their points at the online store.

Of course Autos, Directeds, and Therapeutic donors still need to go through the Special Donations folks.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center uses DonorSuite :-) You may want to compare it to the competition :-) You can find out more information at www.donorsuite.com
