I am finding it difficult to locate benchmarking information on this topic, and was wondering if anyone could provide information on the following items: Typical component orders by OR procedureAverage number of components issued to the OR each dayAverage number of components returned from the OR each day Any help or information would be greatly appreciated! We have a MSBOS (minimum surgical blood ordering schedule) but that is also facility dependent. I think you will need to build the dataset for your institution and then look at it rather than try to find "published averages."Good luck with this one...
