Pooled Cryoprecipitate
Good Morning, I have never heard of mixed ABO pools but the Technical Manual does not state that pooled units should have the same ABO. For facilities that use/manufacture pooled cryo, how often do pools have mixed ABO types? Any reason not to mix ABO types in a pool? Thanks!

SBB Online Program while Working FT
I had 5 years blood bank experience when I started my 18 month online SBB program 4 years ago. I spent about 18 hours a week on it while working full time. I had to take a total of 3 weeks off work for rotations at a ref lab, transplant/histo lab, and donor testing facility and I took an additional day off work every 2-3 weeks just to keep up. I learned SO much and enjoyed it but the board exam was still really difficult and I scored moderately. I don't understand how people can pass the exam with self study only - kudos to them!

Maintenance Frequency/Intervals
Hello! I am wondering if anyone knows of a guidance or reference regarding intervals between weekly/monthly/annual maintenance/QC tasks? For example, weekly maintenance should be performed 7 days +/- 1 day apart. Or monthly maintenance should be performed 30 days +/- 7 days apart. I'm looking for help avoiding gaps such as monthly maintenance being performed on Jan 1 and Feb 28. Thanks in advance!

Reconstituted Whole Blood
We use only thawed plasma for all patients (including for reconstitution). We have always spiked the red cell bag to add the thawed plasma so expiration was 24 hours from that time. Recently we started sterile welding the red cells and thawed plasma bags so are wondering if we could extend expiration of the reconstituted whole blood to the thawed plasma expiration date.

Reconstituted Whole Blood
Hello Everyone, I am looking for a reference on expiration of reconstituted whole blood. The Technical Manual (18th Edition) discusses it briefly on page 224 and states that "following reconstitution, the product can be stored at 1 to 6 C for up to 24 hours." If a closed system (sterile welder) is used for attaching packed red cells to plasma, and thawed plasma (5 day expiration) is used, can that 24 hours be extended? Thanks much, Heather
